Rooted Love Center LLC is the umbrella for everything we do, art, snacks, ministry, and mobile creativity. Through RedARTBox we bring aloha, compassion, and connection to communities near and far.
Rooted Love began with a vision God gave Renee when her daughter, Katana, was just a toddler, a promise that her art would one day inspire and heal others. Today, that promise continues to unfold through a ministry that blends art, faith, and community in motion.
From VW Bus to Gallery Walls
During graduate school, Renee’s VW bus carried not just canvases and art supplies, but dreams. When the bus was stolen, what could have been a loss became a seed. Years later, Renee co‑owned a brick‑and‑mortar art gallery in Manhattan Beach, California, where her young daughter painted beside her, absorbing the creative energy and joy that filled the space.
RedARTbox: Art in Motion
Founded in 2018 while teaching at the University of Hawai‘i, RedARTbox began as a virtual gallery connecting artists worldwide. Though the pandemic paused it, the vision never faded. In 2026, it is reborn as Rooted Love’s RedARTbox, a traveling art gallery and café with a virtual 3D exhibition space, bringing art, aloha, and compassion wherever it goes.
Katana’s Journey and the Next Generation
Katana, now completing her degree in Art History with a minor in Religious Studies, has studied abroad in Italy, discovering not just her love for art history but for art‑making itself. Her passion for creativity, her heart for Christ, and her compassion for the unhoused beautifully align with the mission that began in her mother’s heart decades ago.
Rooted Love Café: Serving Snacks and Spirit
Rooted Love is more than a café or a gallery; it’s a movement of creative ministry. When the mobile café isn’t serving fresh coffee and Hawaiian-inspired treats, it’s serving the community: bringing warmth, prayer, and kindness to the unhoused. Supporters can “pay it forward” by purchasing an extra cup of coffee for someone in need, sharing not only a drink but God’s heart of compassion and hospitality.
Art on Coffee Cups: A Community Project
The RedARTBox, when not displaying artwork, transforms into a mobile art studio. One of our favorite community projects is “Art on Coffee Cups,” where everyone is invited to paint or draw their own message or artwork on a cup, turning something simple into a shared expression of creativity and hope. Every design becomes part of a larger story: that everyone can make art, and every act of creation can touch a heart.
Wheels, Word, and Wearables
Rooted Love’s creative journey also includes VdubFever, our classic VW lifestyle gear line. What began as a celebration of vintage charm and road trip culture has grown into a vibrant expression of freedom, nostalgia, and design. Within VdubFever, we launched Heavenly Creations, a Christian apparel line inspired by our faith and ministry. Each piece carries a message of hope, scripture, or aloha, designed to uplift and encourage wherever the road leads.

Whether it’s a pouch of Hawai‘i‑inspired snacks, a piece of RedARTbox merchandise, or an authentic hand‑pulled lithograph, every creation is part of the same story: sharing God’s love through art, flavor, and soul.
